The scenery is such: I stand alone in the kitchen, measuring water for a serving of japanese rice. Meanwhile Jiali gulps oysters in a garlic butter sauce straight from a tin pot at the dining table, aloof of Hang by her side, ripping wax strips off of her arm. Lizzie runs into the kitchen giggling to me about their mutual indifference. 20 minutes later we all gather in the kitchen, it’s about 7 and the sun is setting, sweeping a golden aura through the only kitchen window.  I say, let’s take a photo. And they pose. Nevertheless, given how they are, the photo turns out like this. They all say it’s a horrible photo. I absolutely love it.  Oh my friends, such distaste, such fun.

saddest-summer: I love the colors of these ponds. These colors are just as you see them - I did not do anything to this image other than cropping and levels. The interesting colors are from brine shrimp, algae, and other stuff growing in the ponds. Cargill Salt Ponds in San Francisco Bay (by fangleman)  Oh my goodness.
